Sangamon Valley Community Unit School District 9 Board of Education met April 20.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

Call to Order

President Stephanie Guerrero called the April meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Board members present were: Jessica Browning, Lori Campbell, Stephanie Guerrero, Martha Leeper, and Jeff Stahl. Absent: Josh Hilbert and Matt Wood.

Administration

Also present: Superintendent Bob Meadows, SVI Principal Kristina Sommer and SVHS Principal Jonathan Field.

Pledge to the Flag

Mr. Meadows led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Visitors

President Stephanie Guerrero recognized and welcomed the visitors. Visitors present were: Keith Hildebrandt.

Closed Session

Jessica Browning moved and Jeff Stahl seconded the motion to enter closed session at 6:02 p.m. for the reasons stated on the agenda. Roll call vote: Ayes-Jessica Browning, Lori Campbell, Stephanie Guerrero, Martha Leeper, and Jeff Stahl. All voted in favor. Motion carried.

Closed Session Adjournment

Jeff Stahl moved and Martha Leeper seconded the motion to re-enter open session at 6:38 p.m. Roll call vote: Ayes-Jessica Browning, Lori Campbell, Stephanie Guerrero, Martha Leeper, and Jeff Stahl. All voted in favor. Motion carried.

Closed Session Minutes

Jessica Browning moved and Lori Campbell seconded the motion to accept the closed session minutes as read in closed session.Roll call vote: Ayes-Jessica Browning, Lori Campbell, Stephanie Guerrero, Martha Leeper, and Jeff Stahl. All voted in favor. Motion carried.

Resignation

Jessica Browning moved and Lori Campbell seconded the motion to accept the resignation of Annalisa Rotramel as Intermediate Special Education Teacher effective at the end of the 2021-2022 school year. Roll call vote: Ayes-Jessica Browning, Lori Campbell, Stephanie Guerrero, Martha Leeper, and Jeff Stahl. All voted in favor. Motion carried.

Resignation

Martha Leeper moved and Jessica Browning seconded the motion to accept the resignation of Candi Hadley as Middle School Library Aide effective at the end of the 2021-2022 school year. Roll call vote: Ayes-Jessica Browning, Lori Campbell, Stephanie Guerrero, Martha Leeper, and Jeff Stahl. All voted in favor. Motion carried.

Resignation

Jeff Stahl moved and Martha Leeper seconded the motion to accept the resignation of Paxton Acree as High School Assistant Girls Basketball Coach effective immediately. Roll call vote: Ayes-Jessica Browning,Stephanie Guerrero, Martha Leeper, and Jeff Stahl. Abstain: Lori Campbell. Motion carried.

Resignation

Jessica Browning moved and Martha Leeper seconded the motion to accept the resignation of Amy Steiner as High School Dance Coach effective immediately. Roll call vote: Ayes-Jessica Browning, Lori Campbell, Stephanie Guerrero, Martha Leeper, and Jeff Stahl. All voted in favor. Motion carried.

Employment

Lori Campbell moved and Martha Leeper seconded the motion to employ Molly Miller as Intermediate Special Education Teacher effective at the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year. Roll call vote: Ayes-Jessica Browning, Lori Campbell, Stephanie Guerrero, Martha Leeper, and Jeff Stahl. All voted in favor. Motion carried.

Employment

Martha Leeper moved and Jessica Browning seconded the motion to employ Beth Stacey as Summer Office Assistant @ 12 hours per week. Roll call vote: Ayes-Jessica Browning, Lori Campbell, Stephanie Guerrero, Martha Leeper, and Jeff Stahl. All voted in favor. Motion carried.

Consent Agenda

Jeff Stahl moved and Lori Campbell seconded the motion to approve the consent agenda as presented. Roll call vote: Ayes-Jessica Browning, Lori Campbell, Stephanie Guerrero, Martha Leeper, and Jeff Stahl. All voted in favor. Motion carried.

Federal Grant Funding

Jessica Browning moved and Martha Leeper seconded the motion to approve the FY23 Consolidated District Plan as it pertains to Federal Grant Funding as presented. Roll call vote: Ayes-Jessica Browning, Lori Campbell, Stephanie Guerrero, Martha Leeper, and Jeff Stahl. All voted in favor. Motion carried.

Fuel Bid

Lori Campbell moved and Jeff Stahl seconded the motion to award the diesel fuel, unleaded fuel, and propane bids to Evergreen F.S. for the 2022-2023 school year. Roll call vote: Ayes-Jessica Browning, Lori Campbell, Stephanie Guerrero, Martha Leeper, and Jeff Stahl. All voted in favor. Motion carried.

IHSA Membership

Martha Leeper moved and Lori Campbell seconded the motion to approve the renewal of the IHSA Membership for the 2022-2023 school year at no cost to the district. All voted in favor. Motion carried.

IESA Membership

Jessica Browning moved and Martha Leeper seconded the motion to approve the renewal of the IESA Membership for the 2022-2023 school year for the cost of $1,165.00 Roll call vote: Ayes-Jessica Browning, Lori Campbell, Stephanie Guerrero, Martha Leeper, and Jeff Stahl. All voted in favor. Motion carried.

EFC Federal Grant

Martha Leeper moved and Lori Campbell seconded the motion to allow the superintendent to apply for the EFC Federal grant for technology purchases during the 2022-2023 school year. All voted in favor. Motion carried.

Summer Work

Jessica Browning moved and Jeff Stahl seconded the motion to approve summer work items as presented. Roll call vote: Ayes-Jessica Browning, Lori Campbell, Stephanie Guerrero, Martha Leeper, and Jeff Stahl. All voted in favor. Motion carried.

Village of Harristown

Jeff Stahl moved and Jessica Browning seconded the motion to allow the Village of Harristown to use the Primary School grounds on Saturday, June 25th for their annual 4th of July Celebration. All voted in favor. Motion carried.

The next regular meeting is scheduled for May 11, 2022 at 6:00 p.m.

Jessica Browning moved and Jeff Stahl seconded the motion that the meeting be adjourned at 7:23 p.m. All voted in favor. Motion carried.
