Warrensburg-Latham Community Unit School District 11 Board of Education met July 27.

Here are the minutes provided by the board: 

President, David Munson, called the regular meeting of the board of education to order at 6:30 p.m.

Members present by roll call vote were: Colleen Dickerson, RJ McKenzie, David Munson, Nathan Wentworth, Victoria Williams and David Zazke.

Absent: Clay Sellemeyer

A motion was made by Mrs. Victoria Williams and seconded by Mrs. Colleen Dickerson to adjourn to closed meeting at 6:31 p.m.

Others presented consisted of visitors Greg Hale, Judy Gibbs and Chad Sloan.

President, David Munson calls the regular meeting to order at 6:54 p.m.

President, David Munson convenes the School Mandate Waiver Public Hearing at 7:00 p.m.

President, David Munson, asked if there was any public comment at which time there was none.

President, David Munson, adjourned the July 27, 2022 School Mandate Waiver Public Hearing at 7:02 p.m.

President, David Munson, asked if there were any visitors that would like to address the board at which time there were none.

A motion was made by Mrs. Victoria Williams and seconded by Mr. David Munson to approve the consent agenda containing approval of monthly financial reports, minutes, special meeting minutes, approval of executive session meeting minutes and destruction of recordings as presented. All members present voted aye. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Mr. David Munson and seconded by Mrs. Victoria Williams to approve the bills for payment for July 27, 2022 as presented. All members present voted aye. Motion carried.

Superintendent Cheryl Warner presented information regarding Monthly Financial Updates.

A motion was made by Mrs. Victoria Williams and seconded by Mrs. Colleen Dickerson tp approve the July 2022 personnel addendum as presented and pending satisfactory background checks. All members present voted aye. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Mr. David Munson and seconded by Mrs. Victoria Williams to approve the recording secretary compensation as recommended. All members present voted aye. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Mrs. Victoria Williams and seconded by Mr. RJ McKenzie to set the annual budget hearing for September 28, 2022. All members present voted aye. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Mr. Nathan Wentworth and seconded by Mr. David Zaske to approve the resolution abating the working cash fund of the District. All members present voted aye. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Mrs. Victoria Williams and seconded by Mr. RJ McKenzie to approve the resolution providing for the issue of Taxable General Obligation School Bonds, Series 2022, of the District for the purpose of increasing the Working Cash Fund of the District, providing for the levy of a direct annual tax sufficient to pay the principal and interest on said bonds, and authorizing the sale of said bonds to the purchase thereof. All members present voted aye. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Mrs. Colleen Dickerson and seconded by Mr. David Zaske to approve the proposed school mandate waiver to be submitted to ISBE as recommended. All members present voted aye. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Mrs. Victoria Williams and seconded by Mr. David Munson to approve the IASB Press 109 updates as presented. All members present voted aye. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Mrs. Victoria Williams and seconded by Mr. RJ McKenzie to approve the IPA Model Handbook updates to the WL District Handbook as presented. All members present voted aye. Motion carried.

Various informational items were discussed.

A motion was made by Mr. David Munson and seconded by Mr. RJ McKenzie to adjourn the July 27, 2022 meeting of the Warrensburg-Latham CUSD#11 Board of Education at 8:12 p.m. All members present voted aye. Motion carried.
