The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women's Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week is Elyce Knudsen of Millikin, according to a Monday afternoon announcement from the conference office. Knudsen averaged 29.0 points in two CCIW wins for MU last week.
Last Wednesday, Knudsen poured in a season-high 34 points for MU in a 66-57 victory over Illinois Wesleyan in Decatur, her second 30-point game in CCIW play this season. She also totaled nine rebounds, seven steals, six assists and three blocked shots over 36 minutes against the Titans.
The 5-foot-8 preseason All-American shined on Saturday as well with 24 points, seven rebounds, five assists in a steal in Millikin's 72-57 road win at North Central.
Knudsen, a three-time CCIW Student-Athlete of the Week this season and an eight-time winner over her 59-game collegiate career, has been one of the key components of Millikin's current 10-game win streak that began on Nov. 30. The Big Blue is 13-3 overall and 7-0 in the CCIW, two games ahead of Carroll and Wheaton for first place in the current league standings.
