Support Groups Open to Local Cancer Patients, Caregivers

Brain Tumor Support Group - For benign or malignant brain tumor patients and their caregivers. Meetings are held on the third Saturday of each month at 10 a.m., January – October.

Central Illinois Us TOO - For prostate cancer patients and caregivers. Meetings are held on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 4:30 p.m.

Facing Cancer Together - For all cancer patients and caregivers. Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month at 1:30 p.m.

Pink Link - For breast cancer patients. Meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month at 6 p.m.

One-on-One Support:

HER (Helping Each Other Recover) - For newly diagnosed breast cancer patients. Call Leslie Roberts, oncology social worker, at 217-876-4735, to be matched with another breast cancer patient.

HIM (Helping Inquiring Men) - For newly diagnosed prostate cancer patients. Call Leslie Roberts, oncology social worker, at 217-876-4735, to be matched with another prostate cancer patient.

Grief Support:

Growing Through Grief – For anyone coping with the death of a loved one. Meets every Tuesday at 10 a.m.

Renewal Monthly Bereavement Support Group – Ongoing support for those who have completed Growing Through Grief classes. Meets on the fourth Monday of each month at 6 p.m.

All sessions are held at 210 W. McKinley Ave., Decatur. For evening meetings, please park in the back lot on the northeast side and enter through the Complementary Medicine Education Classroom door. For more information, call Leslie Roberts, oncology social worker, at 217-876-4735.
