Q4 2021 Recap: 2 parolees from Macon County convicted of financial crimes or fraud set for release

There were two offenders convicted of financial crimes or fraud living in Macon County released on parole during the fourth quarter of 2021, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Macon Reporter.

The data shows a man and a woman were among the parolees. The median age of the parolees sentenced for financial crimes or fraud was 49. The younger parolee was a 42-year-old man sentenced in 2020, and the oldest was a 55-year-old woman sentenced in 2021.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Manuel Ramos. He was convicted in 2020 when he was 39 years old. He is now 42.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
