Q3 2022 Recap: 4 parolees from Macon County convicted of financial crimes or fraud set for release

There were four offenders convicted of financial crimes or fraud living in Macon County released on parole during the third quarter of 2022, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Macon Reporter.

The data shows three men and one woman were among the parolees. Of the parolees sentenced for financial crimes or fraud, one was a veteran, and the median age was 44. The youngest parolee was a 33-year-old man sentenced in 2021, and the oldest was a 48-year-old man sentenced in 2021.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Curtis Courts. He was convicted in 2021 when he was 47 years old. He is now 48.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
