ALA Grant – Libraries Transforming Communities update

Diabetes Self-Management Program begins Feb. 8th and will be held on 6 consecutive weeks at the library 1 – 3:30 pm – This program is sponsored by the ALA Grant in partnership with the Macon County Health Department – Starting Point.

NEW

Illinois Humanities Grant awarded to SMPL on Nov 20th with the $10,000 deposited into our account on Dec 15th. This grant is for a Community Engagement Coordinator and we hired Dena Wurster.

Dena Wurster meet the Board and discuss plans for IL Humanities Grant.

Review updated Timeline and Presentation Schedule Policy

We Participated in the Scholastic Library Program and were able to give away 57 free books.

The Library, City of Macon and Macon Fire Department hosted Grinchmas where we had our Christmas tree lighting, crafts and story time with 150+ community members attending.

The Library and the Macon Fire Department held our annual toy drive with a large amount of toys donated.
