South Macon Public Library District Board met Feb. 13.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

Meeting was called to order at 3:40 P.M. In attendance were President, Debbie Herbert, Vice President Anna Jesse, Treasurer Susan Strahle; Trustees Linda Wiles and Salli Pritts; librarians Vicki Carr and Lori Nixon. Trustee Donna Hayes and Secretary Tammi Long were absent.

January minutes were corrected and then approved.

Financial report: Financial report was approved and accepted after some discussion on the placement of "Grant Out" money. The decision was made to have a complete separate page for all grant funds: ALA per capita, Memorials, and Macon County Foundaton.

ALA Grant Update:

Diabetes Self-Management Progaram began Feb.8th and will be held for 6 consecutive weeks at the library from 1 to 3:30PM. This progaram is sponsored by the ALA Grant in partnership with the Macon County Health Department.

Personnel Commitee Meeting Update

Discussed and revised the wording concerning the insurance for employees. A motion was made by Salli Pritts and seconded by Anna Jesse to approve the wording change. Motion carried and changes approved.

Disaster Policy meeting will be held Thursday, Feb. 22 at 3:30 PM

NEW:

After discussing Rev.Terry McKorman's request concerning helping in sponsoring a shred day for the community at a cost of $175, it was decided to respectfully decline his offer.

Register for free tickets to Cardinals game that can be used as prizes Logo contest is underway! Designs for a new Logo for our library. March 5th. Exercise test program. Come and see how fit you are.

Decennial Committee Meeting April 9, 2024

Summer Reading program: Upon discussing the dates for summer reading which is set for June 12-July 24, it was discovered that the library needed to be closed on June 19 which is a Federal Holiday. That date was then included in our dates to be closed.

Motion to adjourn was made by Salli Pritts and seconded by Susan Strahle. Meeting adjourned at 4:45 PM.
