The Governor signed a $53.1 billion budget this morning, marking the largest spending plan in Illinois history. The budget was passed without Republican support and during late-night sessions.

The Governor described the budget as "balanced," but critics argue it relies heavily on taxes and financial maneuvers. The budget includes $1 billion in tax increases, pay raises for politicians, and an additional billion dollars allocated for non-citizens.

"This spending plan does not reflect the priorities of the people we represent," opponents stated.
