Maroa Forsyth Community Unit School District 2 Board of Education met Aug. 19.

Here is the agenda provided by the board:

1. Call to Order- 6:30pm 

Pledge of Allegiance- No Motion 

2. Roll Call - Present - Wise, Crawford, Conway, Parker, Zuniga, Lidy 

Absent-Feinstein 

3. Good News- No Motion 

a. FFA student members Taylor Crouch, Gehrig Bunslemeyer, Greyson Applebee & Morgan Crouch shared their accomplishments and awards from their respective FFA fields as well as their upcoming trips to compete in Nationals. Good Luck to all 4 students! 

4. Guests and Visitors- No Motion 

5. Consent Agenda - Motion by Crawford and seconded by Lidy to approve the consent agenda as items a.-p. Vote 6-0 in favor 

a. Approve the minutes of the July 10th, 2024 regular and closed session 

b. Approve the financial report 

c. Approve the bills as presented. 

d. Approve the destruction of audio of closed session minutes that are 18 months or older. 

e. Accept the resignation of Shelley Followell, GS PH aide 

f. Accept the resignation of John Spencer, HS Ag Advisor 

g. Accept the resignation of Jeri Leeper, MS Kitchen help 

h. Approve the hiring of Ann Shiro, GS recess supervisor 

i. Approve the hiring of Anna Agee, GS PK aide 

j. Approve the hiring of Christina Kopeika as MS maternity leave nurse and district, sub nurse 

k. Approve the hiring of Kelsey Maddox as MS maternity leave nurse and district sub nurse 

I. Approve the hiring of Brandon Huffman, GS night-time custodian 

m. Approve the hiring of Seth Melton, HS lunch supervisor 

n. Approve Josh Lane as volunteer MS baseball coach 

o. Approve Toni Shoemaker as part-time kitchen help at GS 

p. Approve 2024-2025 FFA overnight trips as presented

8. Executive Session 

Motion by Conway seconded by Lidy to enter into closed session at 7:46pm, for the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, dismissal, or performance of specific employees of the public body pursuant to Section 5 ILCS 120/2 (c) (1). Legal action against a public body. 5ILCS/120/2 (c) (11) Deliberations concerning salary schedules for or more classes of employees 5 ILCS 120/2 (c) (2) Vote 6-0 in favor. 

Motion by Crawford seconded by Conway to exit closed session at 9:01pm. Vote 6-0 in favor. 

9. Adjournment - Motion by Zuniga and seconded by Crawford to adjourn at 9:02pm. Vote 6-0 in favor.
