FOIA Request Sent to City of Sullivan Regarding Unpaid Parking Violations on October 28, 2024

FOIA Request to City of Sullivan Regarding Unpaid Parking Violations on October 28, 2024.

In our continuous effort to promote transparency and hold public institutions accountable, we at Macon Reporter have sent a request under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act (5 ILCS 140) to the City of Sullivan. Our request pertains specifically to unpaid parking violations in the city.

We are seeking a comprehensive list of all current unpaid parking violations. The details requested include the name of the offender, their address, the amount due for each violation, the date of the violation, and the total amount due.

As a media organization dedicated to providing accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, access to such public records is crucial for us. It enables us to fulfill our professional responsibilities which include keeping the public informed and ensuring accountability from public institutions.

Given our role in disseminating information to the public, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as a media professional under this act. We eagerly await a response from the City of Sullivan as we continue our work in bringing transparency and accountability to local government affairs.
