FOIA Request to City Of Maroa Regarding Building Permits on October 30, 2024.
In our continuous efforts to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Macon Reporter have submitted a request for records under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act. The request, sent on October 30, 2024, seeks detailed information about both new and active residential and commercial building permits issued in the city from January 1, 2023, till the present date.
Specifically, we are asking for a list of all new residential and commercial building permits issued during this period. The details we are seeking include the type of permit, date issued, fee paid, requester's name, address where the construction is taking place or has taken place, and the contractor's name.
In addition to this, we have also requested a list of all active residential and commercial building permits along with their current status. We are interested in obtaining similar details as mentioned above for these active permits as well.
As an integral part of our journalistic responsibilities at Macon Reporter which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public - access to such public records is essential.
