State Representative Regan Deering recently invited two women from Illinois' 88th District to attend the Women to Watch Conference in Springfield. Kiley Brunner from Decatur and Cydney Shofner from Weldon joined Deering at the event, which is hosted by the Illinois House Republican women legislators.

Shofner, who aspires to a career in medicine and is actively involved with local government, and Brunner, who works in wealth management, were the guests. Rep. Deering highlighted the importance of the event, stating, “I am honored to recognize Cydney and Kiley from the 88th District at the annual Women to Watch Conference in Springfield. This event is a great opportunity to recognize amazing women from across the state who are committed to the betterment of their communities. It was a day spent connecting with like-mind advocates and building relationships. Thank you to Kiley and Cydney for joining me.”

The conference began with a breakfast at the Inn at 835 where House Minority Leader Tony McCombie was a keynote speaker. The agenda included a Capitol Complex tour, a networking lunch, and a panel discussion featuring accomplished women leaders.

Rep. Deering facilitated one of the networking lunches, engaging twelve women in group activities. “It was a privilege to be able to lead a networking lunch for these exemplary ladies to talk about their passions and commitment to progress,” Deering said.
