State Representative Regan Deering has announced the allocation of $1.2 million in Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program (ITEP) awards to projects within the 88th House District. The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) granted these funds for local transportation initiatives.

Farmer City will receive $488,700 for a sidewalk project along Illinois Route 54, stretching from Main Street to Summer Street. Bloomington is set to receive $799,419 for extending the Constitution Trail from Lafayette to Hamilton.

"I am thrilled to announce that two projects selected for the ITEP awards are in the 88th District," stated Rep. Deering. "Congratulations to Farmer City and Bloomington for your awards. I look forward to seeing your completed projects."

The ITEP program supports various transportation-related projects, including bike and pedestrian paths, street beautification, and other initiatives aimed at promoting safe travel across different modes of transportation. This grant program is part of IDOT's Rebuild Illinois initiative.

For more information on all approved projects or inquiries regarding these specific ones, contact Rep. Deering at (217) 876-1968 or visit RepDeering.com.
