Blue Ridge Community Unit School District 18 Board of Education met July 19.

Here is the minutes as provided by the board:

I. Call to Order

Board President (or designee) called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

II. Roll Call

Board Members in attendance were Matt Althaus, Curt Homann, Dion

Lathrom, Franci Miller, Kenna Dunlap Johnson, Dale Schneman and Justin Otto.

Also in attendance were Superintendent Susan Wilson, Bookkeeper Krista

Voyles and Recording Secretary Julie Graning.

A. Review for Approval Milk Bids

Motion by Francie Miller, 2nd by Dale Schneman to accept and approve

the bid from Prairie Farms, Urbana, IL for milk products, supplied to Blue

Ridge Community Unit School District #18 for the 2017-2018 school term,

as presented.

Roll call vote 7 ayes 0 nays. Motion carried.

IX. New Business

A. Discuss for Approval School Code Waiver

Motion by Matt Althaus 2 nd by Franci Miller to approve the Waiver or

Modification of State Board Rules and/or School Code Mandate dated

July 19, 2017, which officially approves utilizing two full day school

improvement days beginning in the 2018-2019 school year and running

through the 2022-2023 school year, which would replace the use of four,

half day school improvement days annually.

Roll call vote 7 ayes 0 nays. Motion carried.

B. Discuss for Approval A & R Maintenance

Agreement

Motion by Dale Schneman, 2nd by Franci Miller, to approve the 2017-

2018 A&R Maintenance Agreement, for Blue Ridge CUSD #18, as

presented.

Roll call vote 6 ayes 0 nays and 1 abstain. Motion carried.

C. Change Order Over $10,000.00

Motion by Matt Althaus, 2nd by Franci Miller, to approve the $16,048

change order to complete corridor work on both floors at Schneider

School, for Blue Ridge CUSD #18, as presented.

Roll call vote 7 ayes 0 nays. Motion carried.

Motion by Franci Miller 2 nd by Matt Althaus to approve the consent agenda

Open Meetings Act at 7:55 p.m.

Motion by Franci Miller 2 nd by Dion Lathrom to move from closed session to

open session at 8:00 p.m.

Motion by Franci Miller, 2nd by Kenna Dunlap Johnson, to approve:

 Jill Moak as Assistant Volleyball Coach, Blue Ridge High School for

the 2017-2018 school term, as presented.

 Martha Deckinger as 5th Grade Teacher at Blue Ridge Intermediate &

Jr. High School for the 2017-2018 school term, as presented.

 The Superintendent to hire for necessary positions prior to the

August Board of Education meeting.
