Harristown FPD responds to 23 fires in 2016

Harristown Fire Protection District responded to 26 calls in 2016, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System obtained by the Macon Reporter.

The calls in Harristown included 23 fires - nine structure fires, three vehicle fires and 11 other fires.

In all, the department saw $82,172 in fire loss - or about $3,573 per fire.

The department also received three false calls.

The calls resulted in one civilian fire-related death.
