Bethany Fire Protection District responded to 21 calls in 2016, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System obtained by the East Central Reporter.

The calls in Bethany included 18 fires - eight structure fires, two vehicle fires and eight other fires.

In all, the department saw $7,000 in fire loss - or about $389 per fire.

The department also received three false calls.
