Lovington Fire Protection District responded to 16 calls in 2016, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System obtained by the East Central Reporter.

The calls in Lovington included 15 fires - eight structure fires, one vehicle fire and six other fires.

In all, the department saw $2,500 in fire loss - or about $167 per fire.

The department also received one false call, including one malicious call and 0 other false calls.
