Niantic Fire Protection District responded to 26 calls in 2016, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System obtained by the Macon Reporter.

The calls in Niantic included 23 fires - 11 structure fires, three vehicle fires and nine other fires.

In all, the department saw $5,250 in fire loss - or about $228 per fire.

The department also received three false calls.
