Report: Maroa Forsyth spent $8,512 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Maroa Forsyth Community Unit School District 2 is down 9 percent from five years ago, according to a Macon Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Macon County school district spent $9,331 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $8,512 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 1196 to 1207.

Maroa Forsyth's spending in 2016-17 was 34 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
