Kenney Fire Protection District responded to 42 calls in 2017 - 23.5 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Kenney included 37 fires - 29 structure fires, one vehicle fire and seven other fires.

In all, the department saw $226,000 in fire loss - or about $6,108 per fire.

The department also received five false calls.

The Kenney Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $87,501 in 2017.
