Barclay Public Library District Board of Trustees met Sept. 17.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

President Rita Ham called the meeting to order at 7:10 p.m. Laura, Jenny, Jean, Maria, Sue, Kay and Lacey were present.

BILLS: Motion by Kay, second by Sue to approve payment of August bills. All aye 

TREASURER’S REPORT: filed for audit 

SECRETARY’S MINUTES: filed for audit

LIBRARIAN’S REPORT

 Internet issues have improved since a cable was replaced.

 Lacey is still researching using a bookstore browsing model to shelve books.

 Taylor Made submitted a proposal for landscaping around the patio bench, as well as mulch and fixing a drainage tile.

 The black border notice for the levy hearing will be published in October.

 Lacey updated the board on upcoming programs.

EXECUTIVE SESSION: none

BUSINESS

 Motion by Jean, second by Jenny to set the Levy Hearing on October 15, 2018 at 6:45 p.m.

 Motion by Laura, second by Jean to approve the Package Renewal Policy covering property and general liability from West Bend, through J. L. Hubbard Insurance and Bonds. Roll call vote: 7-0 in favor

 Motion by Jean, second by Laura to approve the Workers Compensation Policy through West Bend. Roll call vote: 7-0 in favor

 Motion by Laura, second by Jean to approve the Directors and Officers Policy through West Bend. Roll call vote: 7-0 in favor

 Motion by Sue, second by Laura to approve the landscape proposal from Taylor Made. All aye

 Motion by Jean, second by to accept the proposal from Taylor Made to add mulch to all beds and repair drainage tile. All aye

 The board reviewed the Personnel Policy. Any changes were tabled for further revision.

 Motion by Kay, second by Sue to approve the Milestone Recognition Policy. All aye

Person of the Month: Andrew Lewis for his help with the summer outdoor movies.
