Report: Mt Zion spent $8,330 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Mt Zion Community Unit School District 3 is up 6.6 percent from five years ago, according to a Macon Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Macon County school district spent $7,815 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $8,330 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 2446 to 2394.

Mt Zion's spending in 2017-18 was 37.5 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
