Meridian Community Unit School District 15 Board met April 23.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The Meridian Community Unit School District #15 Board of Education held a special meeting on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 in the Board Room. President Vicki Carr called the meeting to order at 6:34 p.m. The following Members were present: Vicki Carr, Monte Hogan, Adam Herbert, Matt Roush and Chris Jones. Tony Etherton and Marie Jagger-Taylor were absent. Also present were: Dan Brue, Superintendent; Eric Hurelbrink, High School Principal; and Regina Ward, Recording Secretary.

The Oath of Office was given to new Board members: Rebecca Kraft, Kara Morey, Clint Gorden, and Matt Roush. The new Board members were seated.

On a motion by Member Roush, seconded by Member Herbert, the Board adjourned sine die. Motion carried on a roll call vote of 5 ayes.

Member Roush, seconded by Member Herbert, elected Monte Hogan as president pro tem. Motion carried on a roll call vote of 7 ayes.

Monte Hogan called the new meeting to order at 6:37 p.m. Upon roll call the following members were present: Monte Hogan, Adam Herbert, Christ Jones, Matt Roush, Rebecca Kraft, Kara Morey, and Clint Gorden. Also present were: Dan Brue, Superintendent; Eric Hurelbrink, High School Principal; and Regina Ward, Recording Secretary.

Member Herbert nominated Chris Jones as Board President. The motion was seconded by Clint Gorden. Motion was carried by 6 votes for Member Jones.

Member Morey nominated Monte Hogan as Vice President. The motion was seconded by Member Roush. Motion was carried by 6 votes for Member Hogan.

Member Herbert nominated Rebecca Kraft as Board Secretary. The motion was seconded by Member Gorden. The motion was carried by 6 votes for Member Kraft.

Member Jones made a motion to appoint Pat Warnick as School Treasurer, seconded by Member Herbert. Motion carried on a roll call vote of 7 ayes.

Member Jones made a motion to adopt the meeting schedule with one change. The December meeting will be the second Monday, December 9th, instead of the third Monday. Member Roush seconded the motion. Motion carried on a roll call vote of 7 ayes.

On a motion by Member Herbert, the meeting adjourned to executive session at 6:48 p.m. for the purpose of discussing matters pertaining to the employment, appointment, or dismissal of specific employees or officers, purchase or sale of property, pending legal matters, student discipline, and negotiations. Member Roush seconded the motion. The motion carried on a roll call vote of 7 ayes.

On a motion by Member Roush, seconded by Member Herbert, the Board returned to open session at 7:47 p.m. Motion carried on a roll call vote of 7 ayes.

On a motion by Member Herbert, seconded by Member Roush, the Board accepted the resignation of Alora Goodey as Head High School Volleyball Coach. Motion carried on a roll call vote of 7 ayes.

On a motion by Member Herbert, seconded by Member Hogan, the Board accepted King Lar’s proposal for renovation of the bathrooms at the Meridian Elementary School for a cost of $76,000. Motion carried on a roll call vote of 7 ayes.

On a motion by Member Roush, seconded by Member Herbert, the meeting adjourned at 7:55 p.m.
