Meridian Community Unit School District 15 Board met Dec. 16.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The Meridian Community Unit School District No. 15 Board of Education held a special board meeting on Monday, December 16, 2019 in the Board Room. President Chris Jones called the meeting to order at 5:46 p.m. The following Members were present: Chris Jones, Becca Kraft, Clint Gorden, Adam Herbert, Kara Morey, and Monte Hogan. Member Matt Roush was absent. Also present were: Andy Pygott, Superintendent.

Chris Jones then stated the purpose of the special board meeting to have the property tax levy hearing. This hearing is called due to the levy is greater the 105% of the amount of property taxes extended upon the final aggregate levy of 2018. Andy Pygott then presented a power point of the truth in taxation for the property tax levy for 2019. (Copy of power point attached.)

On a motion by Member Gorden, seconded by Member Morey, the motion to adopt the 2019 Certificate of Tax Levy was adopted by a vote of 6-0.

Superintendent Pygott stated he would file the certificate with Macon and Christian County Clerks on Wednesday December 18, 2019.

On a motion by Member Morey, seconded by Member Herbert, the meeting adjourned at 6:07 p.m. Motion carried. The next regularly scheduled meeting will be January 21,2020.
