Dewitt County Road and Bridge Committee met May 11.

MEMBERS PRESENT: Melonie Tilley - Committee Chairman, Cole Ritter, Travis Houser, Scott Nimmo, Jay Wickenhauser

OTHERS PRESENT: Mark Mathon – County Engineer

SUMMARY OF DISCUSSION:

Chairman Tilley called the meeting to order at 5:33 p.m.

Motion by Houser, seconded by Ritter, to approve minutes of February 11, 2020 Road & Bridge Meeting. Unanimous.

Motion by Wickenhauser, seconded by Nimmo, to approve payment of bills. Unanimous.

Mathon presented a Contract for County Aid, Barnett Road District Section 19-01123-00-DR. The contract allows for the County Highway Department to participate in this township Road District culvert repair. This culvert is on McClimans Rd, approximately 0.1 mile north of Illinois 10. The contract specifies that Barnett Township Road District will be responsible for 20.6% the cost of the culvert repair, and the County will be responsible for the remaining 79.4% of project cost. The project has an estimated total cost of $10,000.00 in materials. Mathon explained that the cost split was calculated based on a ratio of Equalized Assessed Valuations of the County and Barnett Township. Motion by Ritter, seconded by Houser, to recommend to the full board to approve the Contract for County Aid, Barnett Road District Section 19-01123-00-DR. Unanimous.

Mathon presented a material quote for Barnett Road District Section 19-01123-00-DR. Mathon explained the quote is for a material call ‘concrete cloth’ that would be utilized to line the invert of the culvert. It will be installed by Barnett Road District and the Highway Department. Motion by Wickenhauser, seconded by Nimmo, to approve the quote for Barnett Road District Section 19-01123-00-DR from Midwest Construction Products in the amount of $4,935.00 as indicated on the Tabulation of Quotes. Unanimous.

Mathon explained that the next item on the agenda, a material quote for a County Highway 17S erosion control project, would be delayed until the April meeting. The design for the project has been revised from the materials included in the original quote, and a updated quote has not been received in time for consideration.

Motion by Ritter, seconded by Nimmo, to approve the County Engineer attend the IACE Spring Conference in Bloomington-Normal. Mathon explained that plans were still fluid, and the conference may be shortened or cancelled. Unanimous.

Motion by Ritter, seconded by Houser, to adjourn at 5:55 p.m.
