DeWitt County Public Safety Committee met April 16.

Here is the minutes provided by the committee:

MEMBERS PRESENT: Lance Reece - Chair, David Newberg were present. Christy Pruser and Travis Houser were present via teleconference call. Also present, Dee Dee Rentmeister, County Administrator.

MEMBERS ABSENT: Nate Ennis

SUMMARY OF DISCiSSION:

• Motion by Newberg, 2nd by Pruser to approve the claims. Voice vote, motion carried.

• Motion by Pruser, 2nd by Newberg to approve February 2020 minutes. Voice vote, motion carried.

Reece informed the committee that he had spoken with Mike Hammer from the Farmer City Fire Protection District and they feel the best way to proceed is with a referendum. Waiting on their attorney to contact the county state's attorney. Once contact from the attorney has been made, will begin working on the language for the question to be put on the ballot regarding the Farmer City Fire Protection District joining the county wide ambulance district. Reece informed the committee that PŞI has agreed to two payments a year instead of the monthly payments. Will work with them as to when this will begin. Newberg informed members that the finance and county board meeting will also be conducted via teleconference call.

• Motion by Pruser, 2nd by Houser to adjourn at 7:08 a.m. Voice vote, motion carried,

COMMITTEE ACTION:

Approve the claims. Approve February minutes.
