Analysis: Decatur pays $6.19 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Decatur Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 86.3 percent of the $6,505,933 the Decatur Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $6.19 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Macon Reporter analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Decatur contributed $5,611,626 to the fund, which saw a $514,822 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $905,768, or 13.9 percent, in 2018.
