Barclay Public Library District Board of Trustees met June 20.

President Rita Ham called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. There were no remarks from the public.
ROLL CALL: Maria Dent, Jenny DiMauro, Sue Edie, Kay Mason, Jean Munson, Laura Philips, Michelle Sawicki (Library Director)
BILLS: Motion by Laura, second by Kay to approve payment of the June bills. Roll call vote: 7-0 in favor
TREASURER’S REPORT: filed for audit
SECRETARY’S MINUTES: filed for audit
LIBRARIAN’S REPORT
Attorney Ross Munsterman will meet the Decatur city attorney later this week concerning annexations.
Michelle met with an architect on June 25 to discuss layout and expansion possibilities (see below).
Election packets will be sent to the library in August.
Programming through Zoom for both children and adults has been going well.
EXECUTIVE SESSION: none
BUSINESS
Motion by Sue, second by Maria to approve the Tentative Budget and Appropriation Ordinance, FY-20-21-3. Roll call vote: 7-0 in favor
Motion by Maria, second by Sue to approve the Working Budget. Roll call vote: 7-0 in favor
Motion by Kay, second by Jean to move the August meeting to August 31 to allow for the 30-day waiting period before approving the Tentative Budget and Appropriation Ordinance. Roll call vote: 7-0 in favor
Michelle presented ideas from Jim Fouse of Architectural Expressions on interior space issues and a possible addition on the north side of the building, as well as options if the house to the south of the library would become available for purchase. The board directed her to talk with him about possible expansion between the current meeting room and the parking lot. We are not interested in expansion to the south at this time.
PERSON OF THE MONTH: Doris Benson, who took care of all of the library plants during shutdown.
