Barclay Public Library District Board of Trustees met Aug. 31.

The Budget and Appropriation Hearing was held at 6:45 p.m. There were no public comments. The hearing was closed at 7:00 p.m.
President Rita Ham called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. There were no remarks from the public.
ROLL CALL: Maria Dent, Sue Edie, Kay Mason, Jean Munson, Laura Philips, Michelle Sawicki (Library Director)
BILLS: Motion by Jean, second by Sue to approve payment of the July bills. All aye
TREASURER’S REPORT: filed for audit
SECRETARY’S MINUTES: filed for audit with corrections
LIBRARIAN’S REPORT
We have lost over $15,000 from annexations.
The alarm system will be upgraded free according to our renewal.
Heartland is still trying to fix the problems with patrons not being able to access the online platforms if they have something overdue.
Election packets are not yet available.
The per capita grant has increased from $1.25 to $1.47.
Summer Reading numbers were disappointing, but were similar to other libraries.
Gov. Pritzker has made election day a state holiday.

The board reviewed Chapters 1, 2 and 3 of Serving our Public 4.0 Standards for Illinois Public Libraries.
The board reviewed the COVID-19 Regulations and Practices.
PERSON OF THE MONTH: Gerald Greenlee brings vegetables for the staff.
