Reacting to Gov. J.B. Pritzker's move to prioritize prisoners above other adults with high-risk medical conditions, state Sen. Chapin Rose (R-Champaign) posted on Facebook to decry the Democrat's actions.

The move places prisoners into the same priority group as police, firefighters and National Guard members, WCIA news reported.

It also breaks with guidance from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which placed prisoners at a tier lower.

"Pritzker puts prisoners over people with pre-existing conditions for Covid Vaccine," Rose said in his post. "Last weekend, the Dems passed their defund the police bill, and now they are putting prisoners in the same tier for [the] vaccine as cops and firefighters and ahead of patients with pre-existing conditions and the developmentally disabled... not too mention law-abiding citizens who have never broken the law!"

Rose further encouraged constituents to call Pritzker's office to express their feelings about the action.
