HSHS St. Mary's Hospital has announced an expansion of its outpatient laboratory hours, aimed at enhancing convenience and accessibility for patients. The laboratory now offers services from early morning to evening during weekdays, and additional availability on Saturdays.
The updated hours of operation are from 5:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays, and from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturdays. This makes St. Mary’s the sole facility in Decatur offering after-hours outpatient lab services.
"We heard from the community that they wanted more lab service availability before and after work," stated Paige Meinders, Laboratory Manager at St. Mary's Hospital. She added that the extended hours aim to accommodate patients who require regular lab tests to monitor chronic conditions.
Tim Layman, Chief Administrative Officer of St. Mary’s, emphasized the hospital's dedication to making healthcare more accessible. "St. Mary’s is committed to making healthcare more accessible and convenient for all members of our community," Layman mentioned. He highlighted the hospital's $90 million initiative designed to adapt healthcare delivery in several service areas, including laboratory services.
For those seeking outpatient lab services, the hospital advises entering through the main entrance where the registration desk is located. Inquiries can be made by calling.
