The Millikin baseball team rolled to its eighth straight win downing Greenville University 16-3 in seven innings at the Workman Family Baseball Field in Decatur.
Millikin pounded out 16 runs on 15 hits breaking the game open with a seven run second inning. The Big Blue had six straight batters reach base in the second inning, which was highlighted by a three-run homerun from Frank Bryan. Freshman Andy Niebrugge had a two-run double in the inning. Millikin closed out the run rule shortened game with a four run sixth inning. Junior Keagan Brady started the rally with a leadoff homerun. Pitch hitter Danny Lack had a run scoring double in the inning.
Bryan went 4-4 for the Big Blue with four RBI. Freshman Liam McGill was 2-4 with an inside the park homerun and three runs scored. Lucas Ryan had two hits and scored two runs for the Big Blue. Hunter Smith was 2-2 with three runs scored and one RBI.
Kelby Golladay was the winning pitcher throwing four innings allowing three runs on three hits. Max Simpson, Matt Wilson and Drew Sutton each pitched a scoreless inning in relief.
Millikin is now 8-2 while Greenville falls to 2-4.
