Village of Lovington Board of Trustees met Sept. 22.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

Call to order: President Roger Walker called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

Pledge of Allegiance: Walker led the pledge of Allegiance.

Roll Call found the following trustees to be present: Dennis Garmon, Todd Hale, April Daily, Brittany Bates and Mike Young. President Roger Walker and Clerk Alma Fair were also present.

Guests: Sage Hale, Alex Myer with the Loman-Ray Insurance Group, LLC, Donyell Morgan & Mitchell Leinard

Swearing in of Public Officer

Clerk Fair led newly appointed trustee Mitchel Leinard in the Oath of Office.

Discussion and action on 2023 Insurance Policy for Village

Sage Hale and Alex Myer went over the packet that was in the boards packet. Questions were asked and answers were given. Their Annual Premium ended up being $38,981 for the Policy year of December 1, 2022-December 1, 2023.

Department Reports

Parks & Special Projects:

Bates reported - The school has a merry-go-round that they are getting rid of. But we need to uninstall it there.

The panther needs to be removed from the grade school property so the Village will take possession of it.

Electrical update is needed at the park. We will need to be getting a quote.

June 9 – 10, 2023 will be the celebration of Lovington. Walker requested that Bates gets a committee together for the celebration.

Streets & Alleys

Young reported that one of the trucks will be repaired

Adjournment

A Motion was made by Daily to adjourn at 7:12 p.m.
