Dr. Lisa Smith, a former candidate for District 96 State Representative, is pointing out the increasing number of abortions in the state of Illinois as travel picks up for those traveling from out of state for the procedure.
“This is an embarrassment for Illinois,” Smith said on Facebook. “How evil can we get, if we don't kill them before they are born we corrupt their little minds in public school and make them think they have to change their identity! “Let's HEAL ILLINOIS! Vote in true conservatives and take back our state.”
Smith has been vocal about her stand.
"I love this from RIGHT TO LIFE," she said as she shared a pro-life image on Facebook. "It behooves me why any minority would support abortion or the Democrat party. They clearly have no respect for life! "
Smith ran for representative in District 96 losing the race to State Rep. Sue Scherer (D-Decatur). Her website noted Smith had a strong focus on lowering taxes, combating corruption, protecting the sanctity of life, and promoting safe communities and schools.
"Your candidate is a practicing Christian," her website reads. "Protecting the unborn is a high priority. Defunding plan parenthood and addressing our immoral laws on abortion in this state is a must. Support life!"
Illinois has seen nearly double the number of abortions as conservative districts have limited the procedure, Prairie State Wire reported. Abortions to unaccompanied minors are sure to grow in the state which is becoming a popular destination for those traveling to receive abortions.
Illinois abortion providers have been increasing volume capabilities in anticipation of such a decision. Planned Parenthood recently built new abortion clinics at the state’s border with GOP held states. The organization said abortion providers are preparing for a five-fold increase in the number of abortions.
“[T]he government has provided evil the cover of darkness in which it thrives. The devil desires darkness and despises the light. It is striking how much this legislation does to provide cover, secrecy, and darkness over evil deeds,” Bishop Thomas John Paprocki of the Diocese of Springfield said in a new release.
