City of Decatur City Council met Aug. 18.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

On Friday, August 18, 2023, the City Council of the City of Decatur, Illinois, met for a City Council Planning Retreat/Strategic Planning Session at 7:00 a.m., in the 3rd Floor Conference Room of the Decatur Club, Decatur, Illinois.

Mayor Julie Moore Wolfe presided, together with her being Council members Dennis Cooper, Ed Culp, Lisa Gregory, Chuck Kuhle, David Horn and Pat McDaniel. Mayor Julie Moore Wolfe declared a quorum present.

City Manager Scot Wrighton attended the meeting as well.

Ms. Teena-Zindal McWilliams, Facilitator, gave an overview of the Strategic Planning Session.

Council members discussed vision ideas and reviewed a progress report on 2021-2023 priority strategic goals.

Council members took a short break at 8:35 a.m. and reconvened at 8:45 a.m.

Council members continued their discussion on strategic goals, reviewed city initiatives and activities, and talked about a community vision statement.

Mr. Seth Stark, Chief Data Officer, discussed the data dashboard that was constructed to measure and track performance outcomes.

Council members took a short break at 11:10 a.m. and reconvened at 11:20 a.m. Council members continued their discussion on priority goals and performance outcomes.

This being the time for Appearance of Citizens and there being none, Mayor Moore Wolfe called for Adjournment.

Councilwoman Gregory moved the City Council Planning Retreat/Strategic Planning Session be adjourned, seconded by Councilman Kuhle and upon call of the roll, Council members Dennis Cooper, Ed Culp, Lisa Gregory, Chuck Kuhle, David Horn, Pat McDaniel and Mayor Moore Wolfe voted aye.

Mayor Moore Wolfe declared the City Council Planning Retreat/Strategic Planning Session adjourned at 12:21 p.m.
