Regan Deering, a Republican candidate running for the 88th House District in Illinois, is actively seeking support from local residents through petition-signing events.
With a goal of securing a spot on the ballot for Macon County candidates, Deering is working to engage with voters.
“Out here on the corner of Pershing and Water Street. We’ve got a Republican candidate petition-signing event happening now,” Deering said in a Facebook live video. “Come see us if you’re on your way to work and have a few spare minutes or after dropping the kids at school or running to get your morning coffee, we are trying to collect as many signatures as possible to get these great candidates here in Macon County on the ballot. So come see us. Have a great day.”
Deering, a former congressional candidate and current Mount Zion school board member, announced her bid for the Illinois statehouse in the 88th House District in June. She has noted she aims to stand up for common sense conservatives and fight for conservative values, parental rights, and individual freedoms. A Republican, she hopes to succeed state Rep. Dan Caulkins, who will not be running for re-election and emphasizes her experience as a problem solver and her commitment to creating success for everyone.
Deering has received an endorsement from former McLean County GOP Chair Connie Beard, according to McLean County Times.
She has said she aims to represent “common sense conservatives” and focus on parental rights and individual freedoms, criticizing the Illinois Democratic supermajority for imposing tax increases, including a second gas tax hike and the reinstatement of a 1% tax on groceries, while advocating for relief for struggling families.
House District 88 includes McLean, Macon, Piatt, and DeWitt counties.
