Village of Lovington Board of Trustees met Oct. 9.

Call to order: President Dennis Garmon called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
Pledge of Allegiance: Garmon led the pledge of Allegiance.
Roll Call found the following trustees to be present: Brittany Bates, April Daily, Keith Stanberry and Todd Hale. Also present was President Dennis Garmon and Depute Clerk Donyell Morgan in Clerk Alma Fairs absence. Mike Young, arrived late at 6:20
Guests: Kenny Crossman, Attorney from Arthur is here to let everyone know a little about himself. He would love to be our Attorney, but he can’t make it to every meeting. He does not charge per hour, after the first year he will know about how much to charge a year, somewhere between $5,000-$6,000 yearly. Cell phone number 217-620-6720

Discussion of increasing the size of the gazebo by 2’ at the end and front.

Water & Sewer Report – Todd Hale

A Motion was made by Daily seconded by Bates to approve the rent from Vermeer according to the quote of $6,000 per month.

Park and Special Projects – Brittany Bates
1. Report and action if needed, needs board approval to cover extra cost of making gazebo two feet bigger. A Motion was made by Young seconded by Hale to approve making the gazebo two feet bigger and use any extra money from the Timm Foundation money we received.

2. Trick or treating will be Oct. 27 3:30-5:30 for Business, Judging will be held at 6 pm at the Fire House, Residential will be 6-9 pm

Police – Dennis Garmon
1. Report and action if needed.
Garmon reported on police report.
Streets and Alleys – Mike Young
1. Report and action if needed.
Backhoe needs to be repaired and streets to be painted this month.
Buildings and Grounds – April Daily
1. Report and action if needed.
The hitching rack – Arthur told her that it cost them $22,000 a year to clean up the horse manure and get rid of it. Need to talk to Arthur again to ask where they get rid of the manure. It was suggested to talk to the Amishman that came to the board requesting the hitching rack. Bates recommended at least one by the park at the west end of the parking lot. Garmon suggested behind the old lumber yard were Lester Mechling. Also, if a business has an LLC we cannot refuse to renew the liquor license.
Sidewalks and trees are done for this year.
Insurance – Keith Stanberry
1. Report and action if needed.
A Motion was made by Daily seconded by Hale to pay the ILM insurance bill in full.

All of the equipment for projecting screens from a computer has come in and he plans to have it all installed by next month. This was all for a cost of around $900.
Daily brought up the idea of a trailer for around $3,000 if it would be used.
Also discussed picking up leaves that residence have on the side of the curb.
Presidents Report – Dennis Garmon
1. Report and action if needed.
Needs to find someone for the board to replace the empty seat.
Daily also brought up regarding the houses that we have lean on. Garmon will let Kenny Crossman know and Daily will talk to our former attorney about it.
