Village of Lovington Board of Trustees met March 11.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

Call to order: President Dennis Garmon called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Pledge of Allegiance: Garmon led the pledge of Allegiance.

Roll Call found the following trustees to be present: Keith Stanberry, April Daily, Brittany Bates, Andrea Wardrip and Todd Hale. Mike Young was absent. Also, present was President Dennis Garmon and Clerk Alma Fair.

Minutes and action of Village Clerk

1. Discussion and action on the February 2024 invoices

A Motion was made by Bates and seconded by Wardrip to accept the February 2024 invoices as presented.

2. Discussion and action February 12, 2024, Regular Meeting minutes

A Motion was made by Daily and seconded by Bates to approve the February 12, 2024, Regular Meeting minutes as corrected.

3. Approval of February 12, 2024, Closed Session Minutes

A Motion was made by Daily and seconded by Wardrip to approve the February 12, 2024, closed session minutes as presented.

4. Discussion and action February 26, 2024, Special Session Meeting minutes

A Motion was made by Daily and seconded by Stanberry to approve the February 26, 2024, Special session minutes as corrected.

5. Discussion and Action on Motor Fuel Resolution

A Motion was made by Daily and seconded by Hale to approve the Motor Fuel compliance review.

Daily moved we table to Zoning Contract Resolution until next month. President Garmon will get ahold of the zoning commissioner Brian Buxton

A Motion was made by Daily and seconded by Stanberry to approve the First Community Bank Resolution No. R24-01

A Motion was made by Bates and seconded by Hale to accept the February 2024 treasurer’s report.

A Motion was made by Hale and seconded by Stanberry to have our attorney revise our Liquor License Ordinance.

Water & Sewer Report – Todd Hale

Updated on water and sewer projects

Park and Special Projects – Brittany Bates

Update on the gazebo.

A Motion was made by Hale and seconded by Wardrip to approve the amount of $600 for Easter Egg Hunt.

Seirra Walton is no longer on the park board.

Presented a nuisance article regarding closed businesses in our town.

Police – Keith Stanberry

Reported on activity that the police have been doing. Car’s and garages need to be always locked. Trying to get more part-time help.

Streets and Alleys – Mike Young absent

The hitch post is in the works. J.U.L.I.E. has been contacted.

Security system will be installed at the street building like here at the Village Hall.

Insurance – Andrea Wardrip

Application for the Junefest has been completed.
