HSHS St. Mary’s Foundation will host its annual Star Lighting Ceremony at 6 p.m. on Thursday, December 5. The event allows community members to honor or memorialize loved ones by purchasing a light on the hospital’s star, with each light representing a meaningful tribute.
Julie Moore, St. Mary’s Foundation Leader, stated, “This event is truly a heartwarming tradition for so many of us. The Star Lighting ceremony provides a beautiful way to honor loved ones, and it reminds us of the light and hope that can be found during the holiday season.”
Proceeds from the event will support the hospital's modernization project. To ensure inclusion in the tribute list, gifts must be made by November 25.
Participants who purchase a light are invited to attend the ceremony featuring holiday music, prayer, and reflection to celebrate lives special to the Decatur community.
