Maroa Forsyth Community Unit School District 2 Board of Education met Dec. 16.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

1. Call to Order- 5:04 pm

Pledge of Allegiance- No Motion

2. Roll Call - Present - Wise, Crawford, Conway, Parker, Feinstein, Zuniga, Lidy

Absent -NONE

3. Good News- No Motion

a. Football Coach and captains were present and congratulated on all their 2A State runner-up placement and all the work the boys do off the field as well ... Great Job Boys!

4. Guests and Visitors- No Motion

5. Consent Agenda - Motion by Crawford and seconded by Parker to approve the consent agenda as presented. Vote 7-0 in favor

6. New Business

a. Motion to approve the 2024 tax levy as presented - Action

Motion by Zuniga, Seconded by Lidy to approve the 2024 tax levy as presented.

Roll Call Vote - Motion Carried 7-0 in favor.

b. Fund balance review - No Motion

c. approves entering into a professional service agreement with Jim Lovelace to review the annual transportation claim and transportation dept.

Motion by Wise, seconded by Crawford to approve entering into a professional service agreement with Jim Lovelace to review the annual transportation claim and transportation dept.

Roll Call Vote - Motion Carried 7-0 Vote

d. facilities and finance project - No Motion

e. RFQ for the 10 year HLS Survey of MFHS and district facilities master plan - Action

Motion by Conway, Seconded by Parker to approve the RFQ for the 10 year HLS Survey of MFHS and district facilities master plan

Roll Cal Vote - Motion Carried 7-0

f. Maroa-Forsyth hiring protocols- Action

Motion by Lidy, seconded by Feinstein to approve the Maroa-Forsyth hiring protocols as presented

g. Change in the board meeting dates for Jan & Feb meetings to 1/22/25 and 2/19/25

7. Old Business

a. Principal/AD Reports - No Motion

b. School Board Conference - No Motion

c. IASB Liaison Report - Jill Feinstein - No Motion

8. Executive Session

Motion by Conway seconded by Feinstein to enter into closed session at 5:49 pm, for appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, dismissal or performance of specific employees of the public body, Section 5 ILCS 120/2 (c) (1) Vote 7-0 in favor.

Motion by Lidy seconded by Conway to exit closed session at 6:08 pm. Vote 7-0 in favor.

9. Action after Executive Session

Motion by Crawford, seconded by Feinstein to rescind the resignation of Eric Young as transportation director and continue his employment. Roll Call Vote 7-0 - Motion passed.

10. Adjournment - Motion by Lidy and seconded by Feinstein to adjourn at 6:09 pm. All in Favor. Motion Carried
