Maroa Forsyth Community Unit School District 2 Board of Education met Jan. 20.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

1. Call to Order- 6:30 pm

Pledge of Allegiance- No Motion

2. Roll Call - Present - Wise, Crawford, Conway, Parker, Feinstein, Lidy

Absent - Zuniga

3. Good News- No Motion

Illinois State Scholar introductions and accomplishments: Wills Wang, Jackson Small, Garrett Bunslemeyer, Aiden Langhoff, Jackson Wallen, Noah Luther, Bailey Miller

4. Guests and Visitors- No Motion

5. Consent Agenda - Motion by Crawford and seconded by Feinstein to approve the consent agenda as presented. Vote 6-0 in favor

6. New Business

a. Motion to approve the Senior trip for Spring 2025 as presented - Action

Motion by Lidy, seconded by Conway to approve the Senior Trip for Spring 2025 as presented. Roll Call Vote - Motion Carried 6-0 in favor.

b. Motion to approve course guide updates at Maroa-Forsyth HS as presented - Action

Motion by Lidy, seconded by Crawford to approve course guide updates at Maroa-Forsyth HS as presented.

c. HS graduation date: May 23rd 2025 at 7:30 pm List - Informational No Motion

d. Title IX Update: Informational, No Motion

e. Vision 2030 Support

Motion by Conway, seconded by Feinstein to support Vision 2030 resolution as presented Roll Call Vote - Motion Carried 6-0

f. Roofing Project Update - Informational

g. Sign Replacement - Action

Motion by Crawford, seconded by Feinstein to approve the estimate as presented to replace the west side of the sign facing US 51 Roll Call Vote, Motion carried 6-0 Vote

h. Lease agreement for Ball fields - Action

Motion by Lidy, seconded by Parker to approve the lease with the village of Forsyth for 2025 Roll Call Vote, Motion carried 6-0 Vote

7. Old Business

a. Principal/AD Reports - No Motion

b. IASB Liaison Report - Jill Feinstein - No Motion

8. Executive Session

a. Motion by Conway seconded by Crawford to enter into closed session at 7:11 pm, for appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, dismissal or performance of specific employees of the public body, Section 5 ILCS 120/2 (c) (1) Vote 6-0 in favor.

b. Motion by Lidy seconded by Parker to exit closed session at 7:29 pm. Vote 6-0 in favor.

9. Adjournment - Motion by Lidy and seconded by Crawford to adjourn at 7:29 pm. All in Favor. Motion Carried
