Barclay Public Library District Board of Trustees met Feb. 26.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

Board Meeting called to order at 5:30pm, February 26th, 2025 by Jean Munson, President

Roll Call: Karen Edgecombe, Jean Munson, Katie Leonard, Gary Horvath and Pam McMillen

Remarks from the Public – no remarks

Business:

• Director Resignation – Katie L. made a motion to accept the resignation of Barclay Public Library Director, Michelle Sawicki. Karen E. seconded the motion.

Roll call vote 5-0.

• Gary H. made a motion to go into Executive session (5 ILCS 120/2 (c1) at 5:31 pm on February 26th, 2025 and Katie L. seconded the motion. All aye.

• Karen E. made a motion to go back into regular session 5:58pm on February 26th, 2025 and seconded by Gary H., all aye.

• Katie L. made a motion to re-enter Executive session at 5:58pm on February 26th, 2025, and Gary H. seconded the motion, All aye.

• Katie L. made a motion to return to regular session at 6:10pm, February 26th, 2025 and Karen E. seconded the motion, All aye.

• Gary H. made a motion to approve Lacey Wright as the new Director of Barclay Public Library and was seconded by Katie L. Roll call vote 5-0.

Motion to adjourn the meeting at 6:11pm was made by Katie L. and seconded by Gary H. All aye.
