Maroa Forsyth Community Unit School District 2 Board of Education met March 17.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

1. Call to Order- 6:32 pm

Pledge of Allegiance- No Motion

GS Student Council present - Sadie, Eliza and Carly

Mr. Weisenborn introduced all state conference - Riley Upperman, Jillian Phillips and Mrs. Lidy introduced Chris Renfro and Dathan Lidy with Special guest Adam Caplan from Broadway Newsies.

Eagle Scout Joshua Wintermeyer was present and introduced by Mr. Stewart. Also recognized but not present were Aaron Motter and Garrett Bunslemeyer.

2. Roll Call - Present - Wise, Conway, Parker, Feinstein, Zuniga, Lidy, Crawford

5. Consent Agenda - Motion by Crawford and seconded by Feinstein to approve the consent agenda as presented. Vote 7-0 in favor

a. Recommendation to approve roofing project for $2,559,045 for the HS and GS - Action

Motion by Conway, seconded by Wise to approve roofing project for $2,559,045 for the HS and GS as presented...Roll Call Vote - Motion Carried - 7-0 in favor.

Motion by Wise, seconded by Conway to rehire certified staff for 25-26 school year

f. Declaration of express property - Action

Motion by Crawford, seconded by Lidy to approve the declaration of excess property with the proceeds from their sale going to school choir activity account.

Roll Call vote - motion carried 7-0

g. Recommend membership to IHSA & IESA membership for the 2025-2026 school year. Action Motion by Parker, seconded by Feinstein to approve the membership to IHSA & IESA for the 25- 26 school year. Voice Vote Motion Carried

h. May and June board meeting - Informational

a. Principal/AD Reports - No Motion

b. IASB Liaison Report - Jill Feinstein - No Motion

8. Executive Session

Motion by Feinstein seconded by Parker to enter into closed session at 7:28 pm, to discuss possible litigation, appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, dismissal or performance of specific employees of the public body. Vote 7-0 in favor.

Motion by Crawford seconded by Zuniga to exit closed session at 8:14 pm. Voice Vote - motion carried

9. Action after executive session

Motion by Lidy, seconded by Crawford to transfer Luke Azzerelli to GS PE from 4th Grade.

Roll Call Vote - Motion Carried 7-0

10. Adjournment - Motion by Lidy and seconded by Feinstein to adjourn at 8:15 pm. All in Favor. Motion Carried
