Macon County Education: 8,251 white students enrolled in school districts in 2023-24 school year

There were 8,251 white students enrolled in Macon County school districts in the 2023-24 school year, 2.6% more than the previous year, according to the Illinois State Board of Education.

Data showed that white students made up 56% of the 14,736 students in the county. They were the most represented ethnicity.

Among the seven districts in Macon County, Decatur School District 61 recorded the highest enrollment of white students in the 2023-24 school year, with a total of 2,196 students.
