City of Clinton Council met Sept. 17.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

Minutes of the regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Clinton, Illinois in session in the Council Chambers of City Hall, Monday, September 17, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. Mayor Roger Cyrulik, presiding. On roll call, Commissioners Crang, Wise, Ballenger and Edmunds were present.

Written motion was made by Commissioner Wise and seconded by Commissioner Ballenger that the minutes of the regular meeting of September 4, 2018 be approved as submitted. On roll call vote, Commissioners Wise, Ballenger, Edmunds and Mayor Cyrulik voted “Yes”. Commissioner Crang voted “Present”.

The bills and payroll were read.

Written motion was made by Commissioner Edmunds and seconded by Commissioner Crang that the bills and payroll be allowed as read and the Clerk be instructed to issue warrants on the Treasurer for the several amounts. On roll call vote, Commissioners Ballenger, Edmunds, Crang, Wise and Mayor Cyrulik voted “Yes”.

PETITIONS AND COMMUNICATIONS

Seth Redington was unable to attend the Council meeting.

REPORT FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC AFFAIRS

Mayor Cyrulik read the Constitution Week Proclamation and then everyone recited the Constitution of the United States Preamble.

REPORT FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF STREETS & PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS

Commissioner Crang reported that the departments met and everyone knows their assignments for the next couple of weeks to get ready for the Apple-n-Pork Festival. She also stated that the downtown area has been striped and the Street Dept. is busy picking up brush this week and the Apple-n-Pork Festival will be September 29th and 30th.

REPORT FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC PROPERTY

Commissioner Wise had no report.

REPORT FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH & SAFETY

Commissioner Ballenger had no report.

REPORT FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF ACCOUNTS & FINANCES

Commissioner Edmunds had no report.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

Written motion was made by Mayor Cyrulik and seconded by Commissioner Edmunds to approve the Settlement & Release Agreement between the City of Clinton and Mach 1 in the amount of $4,388.55. On roll call vote, Commissioners Edmunds, Crang, Wise, Ballenger and Mayor Cyrulik voted “Yes”.

NEW BUSINESS

On File - Bids for Cemetery Office Roof – K & K Construction & Concrete - $4,000.00 and Wilson-Schleder Construction Inc. - $4,684.00

On File - Bids for Cemetery Garage Roof – K & K Construction & Concrete - $6,200.00 and Wilson-Schleder Construction Inc. - $5,040.00

The City Administrator stated that the City received a bid from J & S Roofing in the mail but it was the day after the bid opening so it could not be considered.

On File - Demolition Bids/Former Street Dept. Property (S. Center St. Limits) –

Anderson Backhoe Service Inc. – $14,000.00, ZK Excavating - $13,450.00 and Tool Excavating - $16,300.00

ADJOURNMENT

With no further business to come before the Council, a motion was made by Commissioner Ballenger and seconded by Commissioner Crang to adjourn the meeting. On roll call vote, Commissioners Crang, Wise, Ballenger, Edmunds and Mayor Cyrulik voted “Yes”.
