City of Clinton City Council met Oct. 5.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

Minutes of the regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Clinton, Illinois in session in the Council Chambers of City Hall and electronically, Monday, October 5, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. Mayor Roger Cyrulik, presiding. On roll call, Commissioners Buchanan, Wise and Ballenger were present. Commissioner Edmunds was absent.

Written motion was made by Commissioner Wise and seconded by Commissioner Buchanan that the minutes of the regular meeting of September 21, 2020 be approved as submitted. On roll call vote, Commissioners Wise, Ballenger, Buchanan and Mayor Cyrulik voted “Yes”.

The bills and payroll were read.

Written motion was made by Commissioner Buchanan and seconded by Mayor Cyrulik that the bills and payroll be allowed as read and the Clerk be instructed to issue warrants on the Treasurer for the several amounts. On roll call vote, Commissioners Ballenger, Buchanan, Wise and Mayor Cyrulik voted “Yes”.

REPORT FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC AFFAIRS

Mayor Cyrulik reported the Illinois Department of Public Health has sent out some guidelines that will be posted on the City Website for Trick or Treating on October 31st from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. The virus is still spreading so you need to follow the 3 W’s that still apply – Wash your hands, Watch your distance, Wear your mask. Everyone needs to stay safe.

REPORT FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF STREETS & PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS

Commissioner Buchanan reported the Center St. Project is progressing well. Milling of N. Center St. was done today, and S. Center St. will be done on Tuesday and laying of asphalt should start on Wednesday. Please avoid this area of town if possible. He also stated leaf pick-up with the Vac will start in a few weeks. He wanted to remind citizens that brush is picked up starting the third Monday of each month and can be set out no earlier than a week before that. There will be no pickup during the months of December, January and February unless there is a storm. Last day to use the Voucher for City-wide Clean-up is October 15th and the Yard Waste will be open all winter.
