Gov. J.B. Pritzker "should be ashamed" for allowing lawmakers to be included in Phase 1B of the state's vaccine rollout, Sen. Chapin Rose (R-Champaign) said.
"Politicians ahead of the most vulnerable is wrong. Period," Rose said in a Feb. 4 Facebook post. "But, frankly, it is what you'd expect from the same guy who ordered healthy 20-year-old prisoners to be vaccinated before the elderly and disabled."
His comments come as vaccine locations in Rose's district prepare to vaccinate those eligible to receive the shot under Phases 1A and 1B.
He provided a list of appointment-only vaccine sites for the week and how to sign up to receive the shot on his Facebook page. These sites included the Rantoul Youth Center in Rantoul and the former Dress Barn in the Kohl's Plaza in Champaign.
Rose said he asked the 10 health departments in the district to send his office their vaccination sites so that they could repost and share the information with his constituents.
