City of Clinton City Council Met Jan. 19.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

Minutes of the regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Clinton, Illinois in session in the Council Chambers of City Hall and electronically at 7:00 p.m. Mayor Roger Cyrulik, presiding. On roll call, Commissioners Edmunds, Buchanan, Wise and Ballenger were present.

Written motion was made by Commissioner Ballenger and seconded by Commissioner Wise that the minutes of the regular meeting of January 4, 2021 be approved as submitted. On roll call vote, Commissioners Buchanan, Wise, Ballenger, Edmunds, and Mayor Cyrulik voted “Yes”.

The bills and payroll were read.

Written motion was made by Commissioner Edmunds and seconded by Commissioner Wise that the bills and payroll be allowed as read and the Clerk be instructed to issue warrants on the Treasurer for the several amounts. On roll call vote, Commissioners Wise, Ballenger, Edmunds, Buchanan, and Mayor Cyrulik voted “Yes”.

PETITIONS AND COMMUNICATIONS

None

REPORT FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC AFFAIRS

Mayor Cyrulik had no report.

REPORT FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF STREETS & PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS

Commissioner Buchanan thanked all the departments for working hard during the snow, ice, and water leaks. He stated the citizens need to get the brush set out so the department can pick it up. They will be picking up the next week and a half then they will be done so you need to set it out as soon as possible. It can also be taken to the Yard Waste and the hours have been extended for the next week and a half on Tuesday and Thursday from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. and it is also open on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

REPORT FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC PROPERTY

Commissioner Wise reported he got to see the Fire Department put the aerial truck up for a Veteran’s funeral and he really appreciated everyone working together and thanked all the departments.

REPORT FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH & SAFETY

Commissioner Ballenger had no report.

REPORT FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF ACCOUNTS & FINANCES

Commissioner Edmunds reported that the Sales Tax was $44,000.00 more than this time last year. He also stated the City is taking a hit on State Income Tax, Motor Fuel Tax and Gaming Tax.

ADJOURNMENT

With no further business to come before the Council, a motion was made by Commissioner Ballenger and seconded by Commissioner Edmunds to adjourn the meeting. On roll call vote, Commissioners Ballenger, Edmunds, Buchanan, Wise and Mayor Cyrulik voted “Yes”.
