Becatur Memorial Hospital issued the following announcement on Mar. 22.
Please join us in congratulating Mathew Hettinger, a registered nurse in the cardiac unit, as our Decatur Memorial Hospital Colleague of the Month for February! Mat’s compassion and integrity were noted by a family member of a patient.
The patient was quickly approaching the end of life, the family member wrote in Mat’s nomination form, “our family was in shock, watching her die” and Mat’s careful and focused attentions to the patient were a great comfort. Thank you for all you do, Mat!
